HBAA’s mission is clear and simple. Support general aviation and keep Brainard Airport open.
But the efforts to close the airport are strong - stronger now than in the past. During the past legislative session, we just barely stopped closure legislation, but an ongoing 1 1/2 year BFJ Planning study is underway to again determine the “Best and Highest Use” for the 201 acre South Meadow property. Closure still might be a reality.
Members of the Executive Board receives no compensation for their efforts. Out budget is small, but professional services necessary to achieve our goal are expensive. Lobbying services, legal advice, printing and communication services still cost our organization plenty.
